Beziique Ibiza Wedding Photographers Share Their Insider Knowledge On Destination Weddings
Ibiza is, undoubtedly, one of Europe’s most popular wedding destinations. As a result, the island is teaming with stunning wedding venues, creative caterers, talented dress designers and show-stopping entertainers. To help inspire future White Isle brides and grooms, Ibiza Bridal Week 2019 showcased over 80 fabulous companies under one roof at the Palacio De Congresos in Santa Eularia.
This year’s edition marked the third successful year of Ibiza Bridal Week, with visitors arriving from all over the island. A collaboration between The Ibiza Wedding Planner and Tu Hada Madrina Wedding Planners, the island’s most renowned brands were represented. Adlib Moda Ibiza, Aguas De Ibiza, Mambo Weddings Ibiza, SOMM Wine Shop Ibiza and many more showcased their services. With the venue elaborately decorated by luxury event stylists Velvet Circus Ibiza, it felt like stepping into an Ibiza wedding inspiration Pinterest board. The Beziique team took a stroll around the fair to tell you about the latest Ibiza wedding trends!
The bohemian wedding trend has dominated Ibiza weddings for years. But we were told by wedding event design company The Divine Feast that an edgier aesthetic is coming. Rich colours, lush fabrics such as velvet, neon signs and geometric cakes are shaking things up! A natural wedding colour theme and tropical foliage table decorations were two further Ibiza wedding trends we spotted. Think dried palm leaves, cacti and succulents in simple glass containers and floating clouds made from delicate Baby’s Breath flowers. Green glassware and crockery in plant shapes, real fruit and flower garlands make for a paradisiacal table setting.
Get to and from your Ibiza wedding in style by hiring an eye-catching vehicle. We spotted vintage cars, including a stunning classic Jaguar limousine, a cute Vespa with a sidecar and even traditional Balearic fishing boats called llauts at Ibiza Bridal Week 2019. And, of course, the iconic VW camper van – which doubles up as a vintage photo booth – could not be missing.
A natural colour palette is a tasteful way of letting the island’s beauty do the talking and looks effortlessly elegant. Shades of blush pink also remain hugely popular, but the Ibiza wedding trend to look out for are sumptuous shades of emerald green, inspired by tropical foliage, fruits and vegetables.
Wedding cakes have come a long way since the humble fruitcake. While the minimalist trend for ‘naked’ wedding cakes persists, at Ibiza Bridal Week caterers were showing of their stunning ‘fine art’ and geometric creations. We marvelled at hand-painted watercolour effects and structures shaped out of elegant copper wires replacing entire tiers.
It’s all about the statement flowers! Thick floral table garlands in rich reds and pinks or hexagonal arches embellished with striking foliage add eye-catching detail to your day. Jaw-dropping flower walls in delicate cream and blush shades are another big trend for your Ibiza destination wedding. And working a personalised neon sign into your floral decorations is the proverbial icing on the cake!
Whether you’re dining on the beach watching a mesmerising fire show or you’re stunned by fierce dancers in glittering discoball suits at one the island’s super clubs, Ibiza is well-known for its spectacular entertainment. And the same array of amazing artists is also available for your Ibiza wedding celebrations! At Ibiza Bridal Week 2019, we spotted silk rope aerialists, fire breathers, swing bands and, of course, some of Ibiza’s finest DJ talent. A novelty for upcoming weddings is the Ibiza VR virtual reality experience, which allows couples to relieve their special day time and time again through clever VR captures.
