Ayia Napa Wedding Photographer

Ayia Napa sits on the south-eastern tip of Cyprus, where the headland fragments into a ribbon of pale-sand coves and the sea turns an almost improbable shade of turquoise. It is the kind of place that photographs itself — but a wedding here deserves more than a pretty backdrop. We are Nick and Aimie Wild of Beziique, and for more than fifteen years and over a thousand weddings we have photographed couples along this coastline, working in a warm, documentary style that puts the people first and lets the scenery do its quiet, dazzling work behind them.

UK couples come to Ayia Napa because it delivers everything a destination wedding promises — golden light, easy beaches, big modern resorts and a four-and-a-half-hour flight from home — without the long-haul cost or jet lag. Our job is to make sure the day looks and feels like yours: the nervous laugh before the ceremony, the speech that goes off-script, the moment the sun drops behind Nissi Beach. We would love to be the photographers who keep all of it. You can see how we work across our recent weddings on our portfolio, and start a conversation any time on our contact page.

Documentary wedding photography in Ayia Napa

Our approach is unobtrusive. We are not the photographers who choreograph your whole day or pull you out of the party for an hour of stiff posing — we document what actually happens, then borrow you for a relaxed twenty minutes at golden hour when the light is at its most flattering. That documentary instinct is what has won us awards, and it is the reason couples trust us with the parts of the day they cannot stage: the tears, the dancing, the grandparents catching up over dinner.

Ayia Napa rewards this style. The resort weddings here tend to flow easily from ceremony to drinks on a terrace to a long dinner under the stars, and we move through it all quietly, reading the room rather than running it. Aimie's background as a wedding singer means she has an unusually good ear for the rhythm of a day — when the emotion is about to peak, when to step in and when to disappear — and that sensitivity shows in the gallery you eventually receive.

We are a husband-and-wife team: book both of us, as our Premium Plus and Luxury collections include, and you get two photographers covering two angles of every important moment, with one consistent voice editing the final set. There is no junior shooter you have never met, no template gallery. Every couple we photograph in Ayia Napa gets the same care, whether you are eloping for two on the sand or hosting a hundred guests at a beachfront hotel. If you are still piecing the day together, our guide to getting married in Ayia Napa walks through the area, the venues and the logistics in detail.

III

Ayia Napa venues we love

Ayia Napa and the wider Famagusta coast are dense with proper wedding hotels — large enough for your whole party to stay together, polished enough to handle the catering and styling, and almost all of them within touching distance of the sea. We would be glad to photograph your wedding at any of them, and a few stand out for the way they frame both a ceremony and a couple.

  • Nissi Beach Resort is the area's most photogenic address — built right onto the famous white sand of Nissi Beach, with a sandbar that emerges at low tide and a sunset that bathes the whole bay in gold. It is hard to imagine a more romantic spot for a beach ceremony on this coast.
  • Adams Beach Hotel is a long-established five-star favourite for UK couples, with manicured gardens, a seafront lawn for ceremonies and the kind of all-in-one comfort that makes a destination wedding feel effortless for your guests.
  • Olympic Lagoon Resort brings a resort-scale sense of occasion — generous grounds, lagoon pools and dedicated ceremony spaces — ideal if you want everyone in one place for several days of celebrating rather than a single afternoon.

Whichever venue you choose, we visit ahead of time, scout the light through the day, and plan around the angles the sun will give us. Knowing a venue is half the work; the other half is staying loose enough to catch the moments nobody planned.

Beach and resort weddings

A beach wedding in Ayia Napa is one of the great pleasures of photographing on this island. The sand is genuinely pale, the water genuinely clear, and in the right light a ceremony by the sea looks effortless. A symbolic ceremony or blessing can be held right on the beach, exactly where you want it, while a legal civil ceremony can be arranged through the municipality or at a licensed venue nearby — your planner will confirm what is possible at your chosen spot, and either way the coastline does the rest.

Light is everything here, and Ayia Napa's faces roughly south and east, which gives soft morning light over the water and a long, warm golden hour as the sun sets behind the headland. The most comfortable months are May to June and September to October, when temperatures sit around a pleasant 20–26°C and the light is at its richest. In the height of summer, when afternoons climb past 32°C, we always steer couples towards a late-afternoon or sunset ceremony — kinder on your guests and far more flattering on camera.

The resort weddings here tend to follow a lovely arc: a beach or garden ceremony, drinks as the heat eases, then dinner and dancing into a warm Mediterranean night. We photograph the whole thing, from the morning's first details to the last song. Your full, hand-edited gallery follows a few weeks later. To get a feel for the range and consistency of our beach and resort work, spend a few minutes with our portfolio.

V

Your investment

Good wedding photography is the one thing from your day that lasts. The flowers wilt, the cake is eaten, the band goes home — the photographs are what you will still be holding in thirty years. We price our coverage to reflect that, and because a Cyprus wedding is typically thirty to fifty per cent cheaper than a comparable wedding in the UK, many couples find they can invest properly in photography here without stretching the overall budget.

Our collections range from five hours with one of us to a full day with both of us, with the option to add an engagement or pre-wedding session, extra hours, albums and second-location shoots. Every package includes a professionally hand-edited gallery in our signature style — no fillers, no corner-cutting on the part that matters most. You can see what is included and current pricing on our investment page.

If Ayia Napa feels like your kind of place, the next step is simply to get in touch. Tell us your date, your venue if you have one, and a little about the day you are imagining, and we will let you know we are free and how we can help. Start the conversation on our contact page — we would love to photograph your Ayia Napa wedding.

The difference

What sets the coverage apart

Ayia Napa has no shortage of wedding photographers. What actually shapes how your day feels is harder to see in a portfolio.

01

Two Photographers, One Story

With our Premium Plus and Luxury collections, Nick and Aimie shoot your Ayia Napa wedding together — one of you is never left uncovered while the other is being photographed elsewhere. Your parents, your partner, your guests: nothing important happens off-camera.

Married to each other, and to the job.

02

A Documentary Approach

Posed portraits stay short and deliberate; everything else is the day as it actually happened. Most of what fills your gallery, we never staged or asked for.

The day itself, not a performance of it.

03

A Singer Behind the Camera

Aimie sang at weddings for years before she ever held a camera, so we read the shape of a ceremony and a first dance the way a musician reads a room — already in position before the moment we're waiting for lands.

An instinct you can't fake with equipment.

The process

How coverage works

Most Ayia Napa couples book full-day documentary coverage; some add a cinematic film. The process is the same from your first enquiry to the gallery landing in your inbox.

01

Documentary Photography

Full-day coverage across your Ayia Napa wedding, shot in our natural, unposed style. Your full hand-edited gallery follows in six to ten weeks.

72-hour rush delivery available for couples who can't wait.

02

Cinematic Film

Booking film alongside photography means one team, one shared read of the day, and nobody negotiating for position at the ceremony. Ask about adding a highlight film to any collection.

Ask for more info and check our availability.

03

Fine-Art Albums

An Ayia Napa wedding deserves more than a folder of files. We offer fine-art albums built to hold your day somewhere more permanent than a camera roll.

A physical keepsake, built to last.

Full gallery hand-edited and delivered in 6–10 weeks

  • How soon will we get our wedding photos?

Your full, hand-edited gallery is delivered in approximately 6–10 weeks. Every image is individually edited in our signature documentary style — we never cut corners on the part that lasts a lifetime.

  • How far is Cyprus to fly from the UK?

Cyprus is roughly a 4.5-hour direct flight from the UK, with regular services into both Paphos (PFO) and Larnaca (LCA) airports. That short-haul distance is one of the reasons Cyprus is so popular for UK destination weddings — it's easy for guests of all ages to join you, with no long-haul jet lag.

  • Can we have our ceremony on the beach or at our villa?

Yes. A symbolic ceremony or blessing can be held anywhere you like — a beach, a garden, a clifftop, a private villa or a vineyard — because it isn't tied to the legal paperwork. If you want your actual legal wedding outdoors, many licensed venues can host the civil ceremony too; your planner will confirm what's possible at your chosen spot. Either way, Cyprus's beaches and landscapes make a breathtaking backdrop.

  • When is the best time of year to get married in Cyprus?

The most popular months are May–June and September–October, when temperatures sit around a comfortable 20–26°C and the light is soft and golden — ideal for photography. July and August are the hottest (often 32°C and above), so we recommend later-afternoon and sunset ceremonies in high summer. The shoulder seasons give the best light, while winter is the cheapest and quietest time to marry in Cyprus if you want an intimate, low-cost celebration.
