Olivia & Ashley's Seafront Wedding at Alassos, Cyprus

There's a stretch of coastline on Paphos's Coral Bay road where the land simply stops at the water's edge. Alassos is built right on that seafront, and it's exactly where Olivia and Ashley chose to marry: a 4pm ceremony with the Mediterranean as a backdrop, and a night that ran under fairy lights until well past midnight.

Poppy & Andrew's Elegant Wedding at Anassa, Cyprus

Some couples come to Anassa for the view. Poppy and Andrew came for the view — and the roots. Andrew is Greek Cypriot, and their September wedding wove his heritage through every part of the day, from a red-ribbon blessing at dawn to a live Cypriot band that didn't let the dancefloor empty until long past midnight. As Cyprus wedding photographers based in Paphos, Anassa is about as good as it gets for us — the jewel in the crown of the island's luxury wedding venues — and set against its whitewashed terraces and the wild Akamas coastline behind them, this was one of our favourite days there yet.

Vasilias Nikoklis Inn — Venue Review, Cyprus Wedding Photography

Vasilias Nikoklis Inn is one of the venues we get asked about most, so we wanted to write a proper review of it rather than another brochure page — what a wedding actually looks and feels like here, seen through the lens of the photographers who turn up at seven in the morning and stay until the last dance. We already have a full venue guide to Vasilias Nikoklis Inn with the practical details; this is the honest version, written after enough weddings here to know its best light, its quirks, and the corners most couples never think to ask about.

Getting Married in Cyprus: The Complete Guide for UK Couples

If you are a UK couple dreaming of marrying somewhere warm, beautiful and surprisingly straightforward, Cyprus is hard to beat. We are Nick and Aimie Wild — the husband-and-wife team behind Beziique — and over fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings we have photographed couples saying their vows on Paphos clifftops, in vine-shaded courtyards, on golden Protaras beaches and in candle-lit village tavernas across the island. Cyprus weddings have enough moving parts — legal routes, ceremony styles, regions, seasons, budgets — that we have written a dedicated, much deeper guide for each one, so think of this page as the map rather than the microscope: an honest lay of the land that hands you off to whichever page actually answers your question in full. We are photographers rather than lawyers or planners, so for anything legal we always point you towards your appointed Marriage Officer or a trusted local planner — but after standing beside so many couples through the whole journey, we can save you a great deal of worry about the bits that genuinely matter.

How to Plan Your Cyprus Wedding: A Step-by-Step Guide

Planning a wedding in another country can feel daunting at first — the paperwork, the suppliers you have never met, the worry of organising it all from a kitchen table in the UK. The good news is that a Cyprus wedding is one of the most straightforward destination weddings a British couple can choose. The island has welcomed UK couples for decades, the legal process is well-trodden, and the people who work in weddings here do it beautifully, day in and day out. We are Nick and Aimie Wild of Beziique, and over fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings we have watched the same sequence play out hundreds of times — so this guide walks you through it in the order things actually happen, not the order a checklist might suggest.

How Much Does a Wedding in Cyprus Cost?

The Best Time to Get Married in Cyprus

Choosing when to marry in Cyprus is one of the first big decisions you'll make, and it shapes almost everything that follows — the temperature on the day, the quality of the light in your photographs, how much your venue and suppliers will cost, and whether your guests are dancing under warm evening skies or wrapped up against a winter breeze. The good news is that there's no truly bad time to marry on this island. Cyprus enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine a year, and we've photographed beautiful weddings in every single month. After fifteen years and well over a thousand weddings here, what we can offer you is something more useful than "it's always sunny": an honest, season-by-season picture of what each part of the year actually feels like.

Cyprus Marriage Requirements for UK Couples

After fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings photographed across the island, we've watched a great many couples worry about exactly one thing in the run-up to their Cyprus wedding: the paperwork. Will the documents be accepted? Have we left it too late, or arranged something too early? The reassuring truth is that Cyprus is one of the most straightforward countries in Europe for UK couples to marry in legally — far simpler than the bureaucracy many people imagine. This is the definitive, deep-dive page: precisely what UK couples need to marry legally in Cyprus, the documents you must bring, where apostilles and the affidavit of single status fit in, how residency and the notice period actually work, and what happens with witnesses and the ceremony itself. We've checked it carefully against current guidance, but we'd still always recommend confirming the live detail with your wedding planner or the local Marriage Officer before you travel, because small administrative points can and do shift — think of this as the map; they provide the up-to-the-minute road signs. For the wider picture beyond the paperwork, our guide to getting married in Cyprus for UK couples is the place to start.

Civil Weddings in Cyprus

A civil wedding in Cyprus is the route most UK couples take when they want a marriage that is properly legal — recognised the moment you say "I do", and recognised again the moment you land back home. It is one of the simplest legal weddings you can arrange anywhere in Europe: no residency requirement, a manageable stack of paperwork, a Marriage Officer, two witnesses, and a ceremony conducted in English. We are Nick and Aimie Wild, and as a Cyprus wedding photographer for over fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings, we have photographed civil ceremonies in town halls, in licensed hotel gardens, on terraces overlooking the sea and in the quiet registry rooms where it all becomes official. This page is about the experience itself — what actually happens on the day, who conducts it, and where it can take place — rather than the document list, which we've given its own dedicated page: Cyprus marriage requirements for UK couples.

Is a Cyprus Marriage Legal in the UK?

Short answer: yes. A civil marriage performed in Cyprus is automatically legal in the United Kingdom, from the moment you sign the register, with nothing further for you to do — no re-registration, no waiting period, no Home Office form. We're Nick and Aimie Wild, the husband-and-wife team behind Beziique, and after fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings photographed across Cyprus, this is the single question we're asked most, usually nervously, as if there might be a catch. As a Cyprus wedding photographer rather than a solicitor, nothing here is legal advice, but we know exactly where this worry comes from and how to put it to rest quickly.

Beach Weddings in Cyprus

There is a reason so many UK couples picture themselves barefoot on warm sand when they dream of marrying abroad. A beach wedding in Cyprus pairs the simplicity of saying your vows with the sea behind you against a Mediterranean climate that delivers, reliably, the kind of light and warmth that British summers only promise. After fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings photographed across the island, we have stood on most of these beaches at most times of day as a Cyprus wedding photographer — and we can tell you exactly which ones earn their reputation, how a beach ceremony actually runs, and why the planning matters as much as the place. This guide covers the practical questions first: whether your ceremony on the sand can be the legal one, which beaches and beachfront venues actually suit a wedding rather than just a holiday photo, and how to time the day so the light does the setting justice.

Church and Greek Orthodox Weddings in Cyprus

For many couples, a wedding without a church simply wouldn't feel like a wedding at all. There is something about exchanging your vows beneath an old stone arch, surrounded by candlelight and icons, with a priest's chant rising up into the dome, that no garden or beach can quite replicate. Cyprus, with its deep religious heritage and its hundreds of beautiful chapels and cathedrals, is one of the loveliest places in Europe to marry in a church — and as a Cyprus wedding photographer we have had the privilege of documenting faith-led weddings across the island for more than fifteen years. This guide is for UK couples who want a religious ceremony, or who are weighing up whether a church wedding is right for them: what's actually involved in a Greek Orthodox wedding, some of the most breathtaking historic churches to consider, and how a faith ceremony fits alongside the celebration, the paperwork and the day as a whole.

Symbolic Ceremonies and Blessings in Cyprus

After fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings across Cyprus, we can tell you that some of the most moving ceremonies we have ever photographed were not legally binding at all. They were symbolic ceremonies and blessings — the kind a couple builds entirely around their own words, in a place that means something to them, with nobody reading from an official script. If you have been told that a "symbolic ceremony" sounds like a lesser version of a real wedding, let us gently put that idea to rest — for a great many of the couples we work with as a Cyprus wedding photographer, it is the real wedding, emotionally, completely, in every way that matters on the day. This guide explains what a symbolic ceremony actually is, where you are allowed to hold one, how to write vows that don't make you cringe in ten years' time, and how to keep the legal paperwork simple by handling it separately.

Intimate and Micro Weddings in Cyprus

Some of the most moving weddings we have ever photographed had fewer than twenty people in the room. There is a particular kind of magic to a small day in Cyprus — the way a groom's hands shake a little more when there is no big crowd to hide behind, the way a mother's tears come freely because nobody is performing. After fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings across Cyprus and Ibiza, we can tell you honestly that scale and meaning are not the same thing: a micro wedding does not give you a smaller version of a wedding, it gives you a different, quieter, often deeper version of one. This guide is for UK couples drawn to marrying with just your closest people around you — a small but proper wedding, guests and all, not a two-person elopement (if it's just the pair of you you're picturing, our dedicated guide to eloping in Cyprus is the better read). We are Nick and Aimie Wild, and we photograph small days the way we photograph all of them as a Cyprus wedding photographer — documentary, unhurried, and led by what is really happening rather than what a shot list says should be.

Vow Renewals in Cyprus

There is something quietly powerful about choosing each other again. A first wedding is full of nerves and logistics and a hundred faces to greet; a vow renewal is different. By the time you come to renew your vows you already know what the words mean, and saying "I still do" carries the weight of everything that has happened in between. Cyprus, with its warm light, slow evenings and unhurried sense of celebration, is one of the most beautiful places in the world to do exactly that. We are Nick and Aimie Wild, the husband-and-wife team behind Beziique, and across more than fifteen years and well over a thousand weddings we have photographed couples on every kind of day. Vow renewals are some of our favourites, because they are pure intention with none of the obligation — nobody renews their vows because they feel they ought to, they do it because they want to. This guide is written specifically for couples who are already married, not planning a first wedding, and walks through why Cyprus suits a renewal so well, how the day actually works, the settings worth considering, and how we photograph it so the feeling lasts long after the flight home.

Same-Sex Weddings in Cyprus

Cyprus is one of the most beautiful places in the Mediterranean to marry, and for same-sex couples it offers something almost as valuable as its golden light and warm sea: a genuine, growing welcome from the people and businesses who run its wedding industry. This guide is written to be honest and specific about where things currently stand — legally and culturally — so you can plan with your eyes open, not with hope standing in for fact. We are Nick and Aimie Wild — the husband-and-wife team behind Beziique — and over fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings we have photographed couples of all kinds in exactly the same way: honestly, warmly, and with our eye always on the real emotion of the day. As a Cyprus wedding photographer rather than a lawyer, we have checked the legal detail below carefully against current sources, and we still recommend confirming your own situation with your wedding planner, the local Marriage Officer, or a solicitor before you book — this is exactly the kind of subject where the specifics matter and can change.

The Cyprus Wedding Season, Month by Month

After fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings on the island, we've photographed Cyprus in every kind of light — the cool clarity of a February morning, the heat-shimmer of an August afternoon, the long honeyed glow of an October sunset. One of the first questions UK couples ask us is simply, "When should we get married?" The honest answer is that there's no single perfect month; there's only the month that suits the day you have in your head — whether that's barefoot on warm sand, surrounded by spring wildflowers, or wrapped up against a bright, quiet winter sky.

The Best Light and Weather for Cyprus Wedding Photography

After fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings photographed across Cyprus, we read this island's light the way a sailor reads the sea. Cyprus is one of the sunniest corners of Europe — comfortably over 300 days of sunshine a year — and that abundance is a gift you still have to know how to use: the same sun that gilds a terrace at six in the evening can flatten faces and force squinting at noon in July. Knowing how the light behaves, hour by hour and month by month, is the difference between photographs that document your day and photographs that feel like it.

Spring Weddings in Cyprus

There's a short window each year when Cyprus is at its most generous, and we think spring is it. Between March and June the island shrugs off its mild, wet winter and turns properly green — hillsides carpeted in wildflowers early in the season, the air warm without the heavy heat of high summer, and the evenings stretching longer by the week. For UK couples leaving behind a grey, unpredictable spring at home, stepping off the plane into this is a small revelation. After fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings across Cyprus and Ibiza, we keep coming back to spring as one of the loveliest seasons to marry here.

Summer Weddings in Cyprus

There's a reason so many UK couples picture summer when they imagine getting married in Cyprus. The island spends June, July and August bathed in long, dependable sunshine — blue skies you can actually plan around, warm seas that stay swimmable late into the evening, and that golden Mediterranean glow that makes everyone look like the best version of themselves. After fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings photographed across Cyprus, we can tell you that summer here is generous in a way that British summers rarely manage to be: there's no nervous watching of the forecast, no marquee-versus-rain debate, just the near-certainty of a beautiful, warm day.

Autumn Weddings in Cyprus

If you're choosing when to marry in Cyprus, autumn is the season we quietly hope couples will pick. September and October hold on to all the warmth of the Cypriot summer — the sea is still bath-warm, the days are long and bright, the bougainvillea is still in flower — but the fierce midday heat has softened, the school-holiday rush has gone home, and the island settles into a slower, golden rhythm. For UK couples, it's one of the most forgiving and rewarding windows in the whole calendar, and after photographing more than a thousand weddings across the island over fifteen years, it's the time of year we most look forward to working in.

Winter Weddings in Cyprus

Most couples picture a Cyprus wedding in the height of summer — blazing sun, packed beaches and a long line of celebrations stretching across the island. But some of the most beautiful, relaxed and genuinely personal weddings we've ever photographed happened between November and March, when the crowds have gone home and Cyprus quietly becomes one of the mildest corners of Europe. After fifteen years and well over a thousand weddings here, we can tell you that a winter wedding in Cyprus is far from a compromise. For the right couple, it's the best decision they make.

Cyprus Wedding Cost Breakdown

When you first start adding up the cost of a wedding abroad, the figure can feel impossible to pin down. Quotes arrive in euros, packages bundle very different things under the same name, and it is genuinely hard to compare one venue against the next. After fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings on the island, we have stood in the background of almost every kind of Cyprus celebration there is — the two-of-you elopements on a clifftop, the relaxed villa parties for thirty, the full hotel weddings for a hundred and twenty. This guide breaks the day down line by line, so you can see roughly where every euro goes.

How Much Does a Cyprus Wedding Photographer Cost?

If you are planning a wedding in Cyprus from the UK, the price of photography is one of the first questions you will ask — and one of the hardest to pin down, because quotes vary so widely. You will see a few hundred pounds advertised at one end and several thousand at the other, often for what looks, on paper, like the same thing. This guide explains what sits behind those numbers: what genuinely drives a Cyprus wedding photographer's price, what should be included in a proper package, and why the difference between a cheap quote and a considered one is almost always the difference between a record of your day and a keepsake you will treasure for the rest of your lives.

All-Inclusive Cyprus Wedding Packages Explained

If you have started looking into getting married in Cyprus, you will have come across the phrase "all-inclusive wedding package" within about five minutes. Hotels, resorts and planners all advertise them, and on the surface they sound wonderfully simple: one price, one phone call, the whole day taken care of while you sit back and enjoy the sunshine. For a lot of UK couples that is exactly the appeal — you are planning from a few thousand miles away, and the idea of someone else joining the dots is enormously reassuring.

Budget Cyprus Weddings: How to Have a Beautiful Day for Less

A budget Cyprus wedding does not have to feel like a compromise. Some of the most moving days we have photographed in fifteen years and over a thousand weddings have been the smallest and the simplest — a handful of people on a clifftop at sunset, a long table under olive trees, vows exchanged barefoot on warm sand. The island does a great deal of the heavy lifting for you: the light, the sea, the relaxed Mediterranean pace. What follows is an honest guide to spending less without ending up with less, written from the supplier side of the table so you can see where the real savings live and where it genuinely pays to hold your nerve.

Getting Married in Paphos

Of all the places UK couples choose for a Cyprus wedding, Paphos is the one we keep coming back to. It sits on the south-west coast of the island, where the mountains tip down towards the sea, and it carries a particular kind of romance — this is the mythical birthplace of Aphrodite, after all, with the foam still breaking over the rocks at Petra tou Romiou just down the coast. For couples it offers a rare combination: a working harbour and old town with real character, a string of beautiful beaches and clifftops, hill villages full of stone and bougainvillea, and an airport (PFO) that you can reach in around four and a half hours from most of the UK. After fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings photographed across the island, we know this corner of Cyprus intimately, and we'd be glad to share what we've learned.

For UK couples who want a destination wedding with plenty for guests to do, polished five-star hotels on the beach, and the option of a vineyard celebration with a view, Limassol is hard to beat.

There is a particular magic to a small wedding in Cyprus. One of the loveliest things about marrying in Cyprus is that your nearest and dearest get a proper holiday out of it — not just a Saturday afternoon and a long drive home. But a destination wedding does ask a little more of your guests than a wedding down the road, and the kindest thing you can do is take the guesswork out of it for them. After fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings on the island, we have watched countless UK families arrive bleary-eyed at Paphos arrivals and leave a week later wishing they could stay. The difference between a smooth trip and a stressful one almost always comes down to the information they were given in advance.

How to Choose Your Cyprus Wedding Photographer

When the flowers have wilted, the cake has been eaten and the last guest has flown home, your photographs are what remain. Choosing the right photographer is one of the few wedding decisions you genuinely cannot redo — and when you're marrying abroad, on an island you may only have visited once, the stakes feel higher still. You're trusting someone you've often never met in person to hold the most important day of your life, in a place you don't know, in light you can't predict.
