The 1977 Triumph Stag

Some cars are transport. A 1977 Triumph Stag is a scene. It's the last of a small, much-loved run of British convertibles — and for the right couple, it's one of the most striking ways to arrive at, or leave, a Cyprus wedding.

A car with real pedigree

The Stag was built between 1970 and 1977, styled by the Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti — the same hand behind some of the era's most elegant European coachwork — and given a distinctive Targa roll bar that made it one of the first genuinely safe open-top four-seaters of its generation. Ours is a 1977 model: the final year of production, running Triumph's own 3.0-litre V8 with a manual gearbox and overdrive, finished inside with tan leather and wood trim. It doesn't try to be a modern car. That's the point.

Why couples add it to their day

Most couples use the Stag for the arrival, the departure, or a short window either side of the ceremony purely for photographs — an open-top drive along the coast in golden light, a slow roll up to the venue with the roof down, or simply five minutes leaning against that unmistakable 1970s bodywork while we work. It's a genuine 2+2, so it suits the couple themselves, or the couple plus a close family member, rather than the whole bridal party — which is exactly why it photographs so well: it keeps the frame intimate.

How it works with your photography

Booked alongside your wedding photography, the Stag becomes part of the story rather than a prop bolted on afterwards — we build a short window for it into your day's timeline, the same way we would a champagne 4x4 photoshoot through the Akamas or Troodos. The two aren't really alike: the 4x4 is about the wild Cyprus countryside, wide skies and mountain roads; the Stag is about the car itself — chrome, curves, and a slower, more romantic pace. Couples occasionally book both across their trip for very different sets of images. It's one of a small handful of extras we offer beyond the wedding day itself — see the full list of extras for everything else, or check investment and packages for how it fits into your day.

  • Is the Stag available for the ceremony itself, or only for photographs?

Both — some couples use it purely for a photography window before or after the ceremony, others build it into the actual arrival or departure. Tell us what you have in mind when you enquire and we'll work out the timing together.

  • How many people can it carry?

It's a genuine 2+2 convertible, so it's best suited to the two of you, or the two of you plus one more — not the full bridal party. That's part of why it works so well for portraits.

  • Does it come with a driver?

Get in touch with your date and venue and we'll confirm exactly how it's arranged for your day, including driving arrangements.

  • Can we add the Stag to any Beziique package?

Yes — it's an add-on alongside your wedding photography, not a standalone package. Contact us with your date and we'll let you know availability.
