AMARA Wedding Photography, Limassol
AMARA is a contemporary five-star hotel on the Limassol seafront, opened in 2019, where every room looks out over the Mediterranean. It suits couples who want a polished, design-led wedding with serious food at its heart and the sea never out of view, whether you are inviting forty guests or two hundred. We are Nick and Aimie Wild, a husband-and-wife team who have photographed weddings across Cyprus since 2008, and AMARA is a hotel we would be delighted to photograph. If you are planning your celebration here, we would love to hear about it.
About AMARA
The hotel stands on Amathus Avenue in Agios Tychonas, on the stretch of coast east of Limassol town that is home to several of the city's best-known resorts. When it opened it was described as the first hotel built on the Limassol seafront in almost two decades, and its 207 rooms and suites all face the sea, each with a balcony or terrace and some with their own private pool.
For weddings, the main outdoor space is the Events Lawn beside the sea. The hotel's 2025 banqueting brochure gives it room for around 200 guests for a ceremony or a seated dinner, and up to 1,000 for a standing cocktail reception. Indoors, the ballroom seats roughly 390 for a wedding dinner. The hotel's own wedding page notes that amplified music on the lawn finishes at 23:00, with only soft lounge music outdoors, while the ballroom can carry on until 02:00 — worth knowing when you plan the shape of your evening.
Food is a real draw here. AMARA's restaurants include Locatelli, Matsuhisa and Armyra, and these are also offered as settings for smaller celebrations. A dedicated wedding coordinator handles the menus, floor plans and suppliers, and the hotel has an in-house florist. All food and drink, including the cake, comes from the hotel's own kitchens. You can see the current details on the AMARA weddings page.
How we would photograph a wedding at AMARA
We should be upfront: we have not photographed a wedding at AMARA yet, so we cannot claim to know every corner of the hotel. What we can bring is more than a thousand Cyprus weddings' worth of experience in reading a venue quickly, and a genuine enthusiasm for a setting like this one.
A seafront lawn facing south gives wonderful, open light, and a sea-view suite is a lovely place for the quiet, unposed moments of getting ready. Our style is natural and documentary: we follow the day as it happens and step in only to gently guide your portraits. On this coast that usually means slipping away for twenty minutes as the sun drops, when the light over the water softens and the hotel's clean architecture becomes a calm backdrop rather than the main event.

Getting married in Limassol
Limassol suits couples who want a lively, cosmopolitan base with a long seafront promenade, an old town and marina for guests to explore, and two international airports, Larnaca and Paphos, both reachable by road. Our guide to getting married in Limassol explains how the municipality process works, and the Cyprus wedding cost guide will help you put numbers to a five-star day. As Cyprus wedding photographers based near Paphos, we travel to Limassol often, and our Limassol wedding photographer page explains how we work in the area.
If you are comparing hotels along this coast, the Four Seasons and the Amathus Beach Hotel sit on the same stretch of seafront, and our round-up of luxury Cyprus wedding venues puts AMARA alongside the island's other five-star choices.
Can we have both the ceremony and reception on AMARA's lawn?
The hotel's banqueting brochure lists the Events Lawn for up to around 200 guests for a ceremony and the same number for dinner, so for many weddings everything can happen in one place by the sea. Whether a legal civil ceremony can take place there, or whether you marry at the town hall first and hold a symbolic ceremony on the lawn, is something your planner or the hotel's coordinator will confirm.
How late can the party go on at AMARA?
According to the hotel's wedding information, music outdoors on the Events Lawn ends at 23:00 and is limited to soft lounge background music, while the indoor ballroom allows music until 02:00. Many couples hold dinner outside and then move indoors for dancing.
How much is the marriage licence in Limassol?
For 2026, Limassol municipality charges €128 for an ordinary-notice marriage and €282 for a special licence, with an extra €130 for Saturday or out-of-hours ceremonies. You apply in person; with ordinary notice you marry at least 15 clear days after applying, while a special licence allows an earlier date, sometimes the next working day. Most couples fly out around three working days before the wedding.
Do you charge to travel to Limassol?
We are based in Kouklia, near Paphos, and there is no travel fee within 20 miles of home. Limassol is further than that, so a travel fee applies, and we will set it out clearly in your quote. Our investment page shows our collections.
