Amathus Beach Hotel Wedding Photography, Limassol
Big lawns that run down to the beach, a pier stretching out over the water and ballrooms that can seat hundreds: the Amathus Beach Hotel in Limassol is built for weddings with a full guest list, though it scales down gracefully for smaller gatherings too. Couples who want plenty of space, a sunset over the sea and everyone staying under one roof will find a lot to like. Beziique, Nick and Aimie Wild, have photographed weddings across Cyprus for well over fifteen years, and this is a venue we would very much enjoy photographing for you.
About the Amathus Beach Hotel
The hotel sits right on the beach on Limassol's eastern tourist strip, the area named after the ancient city of Amathus. Its wedding offering is centred on the gardens and lawns by the sea, which the hotel lists for up to 400 guests at a seated dinner and as many as 3,000 for a cocktail reception, alongside a pier that holds 60–80 for dinner or around 150 for drinks.
Indoors there are two ballrooms. The Demetra Ballroom seats around 250 at round tables, the smaller Ares Ballroom around 90, and the two combine into a single space for up to 400 at round tables — a useful fallback if the weather turns, or simply the right choice for a winter wedding. The hotel's event coordinators handle the arrangements, and its range of rooms, family rooms and suites means guests can stay where the party is. Full details are on the Amathus weddings page.
Photographing a wedding at the Amathus
This would be our first wedding at the Amathus Beach Hotel, and we are honest about that. What we know well is this coastline and its light, and a venue with a pier is a gift for a documentary photographer: a ceremony out over the water, guests lining the walkway, the horizon behind you.
We work quietly and let the day unfold, guiding you only where it helps. Here we would look at timing your portraits for the hour before sunset, when the lawns and the beach catch the warmest light, and use the shade of the gardens earlier in the afternoon so nobody is squinting. With large guest numbers, a calm, experienced pair of photographers matters: we can cover the speeches and the dance floor at the same time without missing the small moments at the edges of the room.

Can we get married on the pier at the Amathus?
The hotel lists its pier as a wedding setting, with space for 60–80 guests at dinner and around 150 for a cocktail reception. It is a natural spot for a ceremony by the water; whether your legal civil ceremony can be held there, or whether it should be a symbolic ceremony after a town-hall wedding, is something the hotel or your planner will confirm.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
The Demetra and Ares ballrooms give the Amathus a proper indoor alternative, seating up to 400 at round tables when combined. Rain is rare in the main wedding months, but it is reassuring to have, and for winter weddings the ballrooms are often the first choice.
How many guests can the Amathus host?
According to the hotel, the lawns and gardens take up to 400 for a seated dinner and up to 3,000 for a cocktail reception, so it suits very large weddings. Smaller parties can use the pier or the Ares Ballroom instead.
Are you a UK-friendly team?
Very much so. We are a husband-and-wife team who have photographed more than a thousand weddings in Cyprus, many of them for couples flying out from the UK, and we are happy to talk you through everything from the legal steps to the timeline. Our guide for UK couples is a good place to start.
