Chateau Moderne Wedding Photography, Paphos

Chateau Moderne is a striking modern villa at Agios Georgios, at the northern end of the Paphos coastline where the land runs out into the Akamas. It is made for couples who want a house-party wedding: close family and friends staying under one roof for several nights, with the ceremony, the dinner and the morning after all happening in the same place. We are Nick and Aimie Wild, wedding photographers in Cyprus since 2008, and a villa celebration like this, intimate and unhurried, is exactly the kind of day we would love to photograph.

About Chateau Moderne

The villa is a gated, three-storey house of clean lines and big glass, set on a plot of around 2,250 square metres that is screened by tall cypresses and palms. Rental listings describe a 12-metre infinity pool, five terraces, panoramic glass doors opening onto outdoor lounges, and lawned garden space. It lies in the Agios Georgios area of Peyia, on the edge of the Akamas, away from the busier resort strip at Coral Bay, with beaches, sea caves and the small harbour at Agios Georgios close by.

Paphos planner Weddings in Paphos offers the villa for a ceremony, a reception, or both, and notes that it sleeps 16 adults and 4 children, with a minimum five-night stay for weddings. The villa's own rental listing says it accepts weddings of up to around 70 guests by arrangement, with larger numbers to be discussed directly with the owners. That combination makes it best suited to a smaller wedding where your inner circle stays on site and other guests join for the day.

Photographing a villa wedding at Chateau Moderne

We have not yet photographed a wedding at Chateau Moderne, so we would be coming to it fresh, and with real enthusiasm. Modern architecture is wonderful to work with: plain walls and large panes of glass bounce soft, even light into the rooms, which is a gift for getting-ready photographs, while the dark green of the cypresses gives a calm backdrop to portraits outside.

Villa weddings also have a rhythm all of their own. Everyone wakes up in the same house, the kitchen fills with friends, and the build-up to the ceremony is shared rather than split across hotel rooms. That is the documentary material we love most, and we would capture it as it happens rather than staging it. Later in the day, the wild coastline around Agios Georgios offers rugged spots for a short portrait walk while your guests settle in by the pool.

To see how we approach a relaxed, people-first day, have a look at our portfolio. If you are planning a celebration at Chateau Moderne, please get in touch; we would love to hear about it.

Getting married in Paphos

Agios Georgios is in the Paphos district, so your legal paperwork is handled through a municipality there, and our guide to getting married in Paphos walks you through it. If you like the idea of an intimate villa day, our round-up of small and intimate wedding venues in Cyprus may give you other ideas too.

As Cyprus wedding photographers who have covered weddings across this coastline for well over a decade, we are happy to suggest how to shape your day around the light and the landscape. Nearby, the cliffs at Ozea Sea Caves and the beach at the Coral Beach Hotel offer quite different alternatives. Find out more about our work as a Paphos wedding photographer.

  • Can our wedding party stay at Chateau Moderne?

Yes. Weddings in Paphos lists the villa as sleeping 16 adults and 4 children, and weddings there come with a minimum five-night stay, so it suits couples who want their closest family and friends to share the house for the whole trip.

  • Can we hold the ceremony and the reception at the villa?

The villa is offered for a ceremony, a reception, or both. A symbolic ceremony or blessing can be held anywhere, so the garden or a terrace works well. A legal civil ceremony outdoors needs a municipality-approved location and registrar, and your planner will confirm what is possible at the villa for your date.

  • Do you charge a travel fee for weddings in Agios Georgios?

There is no extra travel fee for weddings within 20 miles of our base in Kouklia. Beyond that a travel fee applies, and we will confirm it clearly when you get in touch with your date and venue, so there are no surprises.

  • What is the best month for a villa wedding in Cyprus?

May, June, September and October are the sweet spot, with warm days and softer light. July and August are hot, so if you are marrying in high summer we recommend a late-afternoon or sunset ceremony, when the heat has eased and the light turns golden.
