Tsiakkas Winery Wedding Photography, Pelendri
High in the Troodos, where some of Europe's loftiest vineyards cling to the slopes, Tsiakkas Winery is a family estate that has become a popular event space in the Cypriot mountains. Its garden parties and wine festivals are well known locally, and the winery also welcomes weddings and christenings. It suits couples who would rather swap a sea view for pine-scented air and organic wine at the source. As Beziique, we have spent almost two decades photographing Cyprus weddings, and Tsiakkas is somewhere we would be thrilled to work.
About Tsiakkas Winery
Tsiakkas was established in 1988 just outside Pelendri, in the Pitsilia wine region of the Troodos, starting with 500 bottles of a red called Thyrsos. Today the family farms around 13 hectares of vineyards in Pelendri and neighbouring villages, certified organic since 1995, and makes around 200,000 bottles a year. The winery itself stands at about 1,005 metres, and one of its vineyards climbs to 1,440 metres, which the family describes as among the highest in Europe.
Events are a real part of life here. The winery's own events page describes celebrations from weddings and christenings to private dinners and corporate gatherings, with a team that helps you choose the right space and shape the day; a venue brochure is available on request. Its green garden hosts summer festivals and festive gatherings with fairy lights, food and music. The winery does not publish capacities online, so check numbers and dates with the team; their events page is the best starting point.
Photographing your day in the Troodos
We have not photographed a wedding at Tsiakkas so far, though mountain weddings bring out the best in our way of working. At this altitude the air is clearer, summer evenings are noticeably fresher than on the coast, and the low sun over Pitsilia's terraced hillsides gives warm, directional light. The garden, the cellar and the working winery offer three very different backdrops, so the story of the day has natural variety without any fuss.
We photograph quietly and honestly, catching the laughter, the hugs and the small moments between, and then take you aside for portraits among the vines when the light is at its best. Browse our portfolio to see the feel of our work, and get in touch if you are imagining a Tsiakkas wedding. We'd love to hear about it.
Getting married in the Limassol mountains
Pelendri lies within Limassol district. Most couples make it legal at a municipality and celebrate in the hills afterwards, or hold a symbolic ceremony at the venue. The Limassol wedding guide explains the practicalities, and our Cyprus marriage requirements for UK couples page lists the documents you'll need. We are award-winning Cyprus wedding photographers and work across the region as a Limassol wedding photographer.
If you are weighing up winery venues, Ktima Gerolemo near Omodos and Vasilikon Winery in the Paphos hills make useful comparisons.
Does Tsiakkas Winery host weddings?
Yes. The winery's own events page mentions weddings and christenings alongside private and corporate events, and its team helps couples choose a space and plan the experience. Contact them directly for capacities and availability.
How high up is the winery?
The winery is at around 1,005 metres outside Pelendri, and one of its vineyards reaches 1,440 metres. That altitude usually means fresher evenings than on the coast, so pack a wrap for later in the night.
Can we marry legally at the winery?
A symbolic ceremony or blessing can be held at any location. For a legal civil ceremony outdoors, the spot needs municipality approval and a registrar, so your planner or the winery will confirm what can be arranged. If not, a short civil ceremony at the town hall beforehand works well.
How far in advance do we need to apply to marry in Cyprus?
On an ordinary licence, you can marry at least 15 clear days after applying in person at the municipality, and within three months. A special licence allows a sooner date, sometimes the next working day, for a higher fee (€282 rather than €128 in Limassol in 2026). There is no residency period, though most couples arrive around three working days before.
