Cap St Georges Wedding Photography, Peyia
Out on the western edge of the Paphos district, where the coast starts to turn wild towards the Akamas, Cap St Georges Hotel & Resort is one of the newer five-star resorts on the island. With a cove beach, stone-built architecture and event spaces large enough for a full guest list, it suits couples planning a bigger destination wedding who want everyone under one roof. We are Beziique — Nick and Aimie Wild — and after more than a thousand weddings across Cyprus, Cap St Georges is a resort we would be delighted to photograph.
About Cap St Georges Hotel & Resort
Cap St Georges opened in 2022 in Agios Georgios Pegeias, on the southern edge of the Akamas Peninsula and beside the Akamas National Park. The resort describes itself as being around 20 minutes from Paphos city centre and 30 minutes from Paphos International Airport. It wraps around a 130-metre beach cove that includes the Blue Flag Kafizis Beach, and the buildings are finished in Cypriot stone among gardens of old olive trees.
There are 202 sea-view rooms and suites, ten restaurants and bars — among them Sky7 for fine dining — three outdoor pools, a heated indoor pool and the 2,585 sqm Cleopatra Spa. For celebrations, the largest space is the Arena, which the resort lists for weddings and parties with up to 250 guests seated and 600 standing. The Romeo Ballroom seats up to 150 for a gala dinner, and the Panorama room sits on the seventh floor with views over the sea at sunset.
Cap St Georges also has a sister property just down the coast, Coral Residences, which runs its own seafront wedding venues, so couples considering one often look at the other too.
How we would photograph Cap St Georges
We have not photographed a wedding at Cap St Georges so far, and we would love yours to be the first. A resort of this scale changes the rhythm of the day: guests are staying on site, there is time for everyone to gather, and the evening can roll on without anyone worrying about transport. That gives us room to follow the day naturally rather than rushing between locations.
The setting gives a photographer plenty to work with. The cove and the low cliffs either side face out to open sea, the olive groves and stone walls give warm, textured backdrops for portraits, and the stretch of coast between Agios Georgios and the Peyia sea caves — pale limestone dropping into clear water — is close enough for a short sunset walk with the two of you. We keep portraits relaxed and lightly guided, then step back for the rest of the evening.
Our portfolio gives a feel for the natural, documentary style we bring to every wedding. If Cap St Georges is your venue, we would be thrilled to hear about your plans — just get in touch.
Getting married in the Paphos district
Agios Georgios is quieter than Paphos town, with fishing boats in the small harbour, the Akamas coastline to the north and Coral Bay a short drive south. Many couples stay at the resort for the week and combine the wedding with a holiday. Our guide to getting married in Paphos covers the region, and if you are planning a larger, five-star celebration our overview of luxury Cyprus wedding venues and the Cyprus wedding cost guide will help you compare options.
Closer to Coral Bay, the Coral Beach Hotel is another resort that handles weddings of every size, and the clifftop Ozea Sea Caves sits on the same stretch of coast. As Cyprus wedding photographers based in Kouklia, we know the west of the island well, and you can read more about us as a Paphos wedding photographer.
How big a wedding can Cap St Georges host?
The resort's largest event space, the Arena, is listed for up to 250 guests seated and 600 standing. The Romeo Ballroom takes up to 150 for a seated dinner. For anything smaller, the resort's events team, or its sister venue Coral Residences, can suggest more intimate options.
Is Cap St Georges a family-friendly venue?
Yes. Alongside adults-only pool villas, the resort caters for families, with a children's playground, several pools and a waterpark experience — useful if your guest list includes children who will be staying for the week.
Can we have a legal ceremony at the resort?
Cyprus allows symbolic ceremonies and blessings anywhere, but a legal civil ceremony outdoors needs a location and registrar approved by the municipality. The resort's events team or your planner will confirm what is possible on site and handle the arrangements with the local town hall.
When is the best time of year for a wedding here?
May–June and September–October usually give the most comfortable temperatures and the softest light. July and August are hot, so in high summer we recommend a late-afternoon or sunset ceremony. Our guide to the best time to get married in Cyprus goes into more detail.
