Ktima Demosthenous Wedding Photography, Parekklisia
Ktima Demosthenous is a garden estate on the edge of Parekklisia, in the hills just east of Limassol, built for big family celebrations. A ribbon lake with a footbridge runs through tree-lined lawns, and the estate does its own catering, which is why it is a familiar name to Cypriot families planning large receptions. Destination couples will find it suits a relaxed outdoor evening for a big guest list too. We are Nick and Aimie Wild, photographing weddings across Cyprus since 2008, and this is an estate we would be very glad to photograph.
About Ktima Demosthenous
The estate sits at Odyssea Eliti 4 in Parekklisia, a village inland from the Amathus coast on Limassol's eastern side. Its grounds centre on landscaped gardens with a lake and footbridge, an outdoor theatre-style area, a children's area and a dedicated outdoor dinner space. Directory listings put the outdoor dining area at around 550 guests, with an indoor hall seating roughly 170–180 for cooler months.
Catering is in-house, and the team behind it describe more than 17 years' experience, with tailored cocktail and buffet menus and advice on floral styling. Like many Cypriot ktimata, it hosts weddings, christenings, engagements and corporate dinners, and its size means it is designed around generous guest lists rather than intimate dinners. Figures for large cocktail receptions vary between listings, so confirm exact capacities with the venue for your date.
Photographing a lakeside garden reception
We have not yet photographed a wedding at Ktima Demosthenous, though we know the countryside around Parekklisia well. On paper, the estate has exactly what a documentary photographer hopes for: water, a footbridge, mature trees and a long evening of people genuinely enjoying themselves.
The lake and bridge are natural spots for a short portrait session as the sun goes down, and still water at dusk picks up the last colour in the sky. At a large local wedding, the bigger moments — the couple's entrance, the first dance, the long line of family greetings — are where we work hardest, staying close to catch faces rather than just the scale of the crowd.
You can see how we handle busy, emotional days in our portfolio. If Ktima Demosthenous is your venue, we would love to hear about your plans, so do get in touch.
Getting married in Limassol
Many Cypriot couples marry in a church and then move on to an estate like this for the reception, while destination couples often pair a civil or symbolic ceremony with the same kind of outdoor party. Our guide to getting married in Limassol explains the local town hall process, and the Cyprus wedding cost guide helps if you are budgeting for a large guest list.
For a quite different, vineyard feel, the wineries around Omodos, such as Ktima Gerolemo, are worth a look. Whichever you choose, an experienced Limassol wedding photographer who understands big Cypriot receptions makes a real difference, and as Cyprus wedding photographers for over a thousand weddings, that is where we feel most at home.
How many guests can Ktima Demosthenous accommodate?
Listings put the outdoor dinner area at up to around 550 guests, the garden theatre area at around 600 and the indoor hall at roughly 170–180 seated. Cocktail-style figures are much higher but differ between sources, so ask the venue to confirm for your layout.
Is there an indoor option if the weather turns?
Yes. As well as the gardens, the estate has an indoor dining hall, which is useful for winter weddings or a cooler spring evening. Ask the venue which space they recommend for your month and numbers.
Can we have a civil ceremony in the gardens?
A symbolic ceremony or blessing can be held anywhere, including by the lake. A legal civil ceremony outdoors needs a municipality-approved location and a registrar, and we have not confirmed whether the gardens hold that approval, so your planner or the venue will confirm. Many couples marry legally at the town hall or in church and celebrate here afterwards.
Which months are best for an outdoor reception here?
May–June and September–October usually give the most comfortable evenings and the softest light. July and August are hot, so plan the main outdoor moments for late afternoon and after sunset. Our best time to get married in Cyprus guide goes into more detail.
